I realize I live in Canada and am proud of that. But we need to understand the political situation of our friends South of us. If I was an American I would be voting for Hillary. Here is a link to her platform. Read her platform. Read Obama. And I guess read a Republican candidate. Stay informed and tuned in.

Here is an analysis of Web 2.0 online magazines. Enjoy!
Analysis of 3 Web 2.0 magazine websites. Make reference to Web 2.0 features. 1 – 2 paragraphs
for each.
The Literary Review is a very tailored and organized online magazine. A few of the
categories include: subscribe, current issue, back issues, international issues, TLR chapbooks,
TLR web, submit, contributors, reviews, staff and awards. In terms of Web 2.0 features, TLR has
a blog, notes as well as My Space and Facebook links.
Keeping in mind this is a literary review online magazine it does have many 2.0 features.
It is not overly web interactive but has planted the seeds for a more web interactive user friendly
online magazine. Perhaps, the addition of RSS feeds will keep the online magazine more current
and accessible for users. This is not an entertainment magazine full of glossy photos or gossip so
presenting the information in a current manner will maintain users interest and draw in new
members.
Pop Matters is an entertainment online magazine which offers many web 2.0 features.
Underneath the banner, which features an up and coming film, they have the major features listed
with mini features following. Blogs, news, music, film, TV, DVD, books, comics, multimedia,
evens and many more mini categories all offer users links to more information. At the top right
hand corner, they included the Google search engine to take the user to another venue for
searching. At the bottom of the magazine, in small print, there are links for advertisers, an about
section, contributors and submissions. Having the blog feature, there is also a listing of the most
recent blogs. What is incredible are the many, many RSS feeds. They are everywhere and
provides the user with many RSS options.
The magazine is full and rich with text and cropped images. Although there is a lot of
information it is tastefully laid out. The layout assumes the format of a print magazine with
columns and headings. It takes longer than usual to scroll down on the page giving it the
appearance that there is a lot of information being offered. Overall, a really great online
magazine.
Food and Wine online magazine completely defines what Web 2.0 means. The online
magazine allows users to access recipes once you sign up for an online subscription. The quick
search feature along with categories such as: recipes, wine, restaurants chefs, entertaining, blogs
and video all take the magazine to another virtual level. There is an option to sign up for THE
DISH which is an email newsletter that is delivered electronically to user inboxes. The blog posts
section with regular updates on the latest blog posts keep users informed and updated. This is
page that is full of web 2.0 features: recipe photo gallery, test kitchen, today’s most popular
recipes, Food and Wine videos, Taste Tests, links to their sister sites and book clubs, Food and
Wine events and a website full of text and images.
With all of these great features that bring Food and Wine online magazine into the 2.0
world, the page is quite busy. Perhaps, a more structured layout would serve as being more
effective. Ads are also flying in from the right and dangle on the banner and hover over the
content of the page. Ads are inevitable and must be included to keep the magazine up and
running. Again, a more structured placement of the ads may be more beneficial and keep things
neat and tidy.
